Our Millbrae Lions Baseball Board keeps safety as a top priority, and we are closely monitoring local, state, and national health recommendations (San Mateo County HealthCalifornia Department of Public Health and CDC) given the increasing community-spread of COVID19 in the SF Bay Area. This is a dynamic situation, and recommendations continue to evolve. Our Board recommends the following to limit spread of infections:

- Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Most importantly, this means having players and family members/friends stay home when they are sick.

- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, and then throw the tissue in the trash. If unable to use a tissue, coughing or sneezing into your sleeve is the next best strategy. Do not cough or sneeze into your hands.

- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using household cleaning sprays or wipes. For coaches, recommendations will be to wipe shared bats and catchers masks after each practice and prior to shared use.

- Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after going to the bathroom and before eating. If soap and water are not readily available, alcohol-based sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol can be used, but always use soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. This is especially important if your team is handing out post-game snacks.

- To limit spreading germs, we are asking that our teams celebrate by lining up and clapping (or other fun expression of sportsmanship) rather than pre/post-game high-fives, handshakes, hugs or other physical contact. Similar guidance applies for pre/post game team huddles.

We will continue to communicate and monitor official recommendations. Recommendations continue to evolve rapidly, so the most up to date information can always be found at the public health links above.
